It is no secret that there is a new era of cold war, like never seen before. The cold war between the United States and China continues to escalate from war of cold words to trade, to consulate closures and now recently into Space. China this time is making firing the first salvo instead of waiting to react to Trump’s move. In 2019 US president Donald Trump announced a new wing of the US military called Space Force; This arm of the military is to oversee everything concerning space exploration and defense. China in an effort to kick Trump’s ego, have decided to fly a mission to the sun, making China the first country to put a man on the sun. When Trump was briefed about this he called a space force meeting demanding the US prepare a mission to the sun to beat China to that achievement. Senior military officials and scientists pointed out that a mission to land on the sun would be a suicide mission since the sun is extremely hot, and would burn to shreds any object that comes that close. This was unacceptable to Trump and he subsequently stated, “they won’t get burnt if they leave at night”.
