Popular and expensive enclave of Banana Island Ikoyi has been overrun by a gang of trained monkeys in search of free bananas. This has caused the island to be on a 24hour lock down similar to the covid 19 lockdown of a few weeks ago. The monkeys are said to be going house to house in a well coordinated manner, and trying to trick residents into opening their doors and giving them bananas. One resident who spoke to Sataya Reporters on zoom, but asked to remain anonymous stated “these are not ordinary monkeys, they knew what they were doing. These monkeys are suspected to be products of the recently busted monkey training institute, which trains monkeys to steal. But by all reports these monkeys are not violent, they just hungry and are in dire need of bananas. Some residents have tried to bribe the monkeys with unripe plantain, needless to say it did not work. If a monkey cannot tell the difference between a banana and plantain, then the world is in trouble. Residents have sent SOS messages to the state governor and the able governor is doing everything in his power to help. We will keep our readers updated on any new developments.
